each country will capitivate the imagination. Additional stops in Dresden, a
city devastated by fire bombing in World War II, Banska Bystrica in Slovakia and
an unforgettable visit to the Auschwitz memorial all combine to make this a
holiday with a distinct difference. Want to end your trip in Berlin? Feel free
to jump on board the coach as it returns to
Berlin.
Itinerary
Day 1 Your exciting European trip begins.
Day 2 Arrive
Berlin After checking-in to your hotel, the remainder of the day is
yours to explore all that Berlin has to offer. Join your Tour Manager and
fellow travellers for dinner. (D)
Day
3 Berlin A full day of sight-seeing including the remains of the Berlin
Wall, the Russian War Memorial and the Brandenburg Gate. An opportunity to
visit the "Checkpoint Charlie" museum. Tonight, why not head for town, mix
with the locals and try some traditional fare? (B)

4 Berlin to
Prague Drive south through Germany and stop for lunch in Dresden. We
head into the Czech Republic for two nights in Prague, the golden city built
on Seven Hills across the River Vltava. (B,D)

5 Prague This morning's sightseeing tour includes Hradcany Castle, the
Cathedral of St Vitus and Wenceslas Square. Then time to explore the Jewish
Quarter. (B)

6 Prague to
Vienna Today we travel through the Czech countryside to Vienna. We
drive around the famous Ring Road on our city tour and see the Palace of the
Hapsburgs, St Stephen's Cathedral and the State Opera House. Time to wander
Vienna's streets this afternoon. (B)
Day
7 Vienna to Budapest More time to explore Vienna before we cross into Hungary and
its capital Budapest, built on both sides of the River Danube. Tonight, why
not join us on a river cruise for great views and a delicious buffet dinner?

8 Budapest A chance to explore Budapest at leisure. Maybe visit both
sides of the Danube, see the quaint hilltop Buda and bustling Pest. Tonight,
an opportunity to enjoy Eastern Europe's liveliest nightlife. (B,D)

9 Budapest to
Krakow North through Slovakia, we stop in the picturesque town of
Banska Bystrica before crossing into Poland. The next two nights are in the
original Bohemian city of Krakow which is the birthplace of the late Pope
John Paul II. (B,D)
Day
10 Krakow Our sightseeing tour includes the Royal Castle and St Mary's
Church. Time to explore the city and a chance to visit the fascinating
Wieliczka salt mines. (B)
Day
11 Krakow to
Warsaw Our first stop is the Concentration Camp of Auschwitz - a
visit never to be forgotten. Then north to Czestochowa, site of the
magnificent 14th Century Paulite monastery at Jasna Gora and home to the
famous portrait, the 'Black Madonna', thought to be painted by St Luke. We
continue on to Warsaw, the rebuilt capital of Poland. (B,D)

12 Warsaw Today we visit the Warsaw Ghetto and Old Town, reconstructed
after wartime destruction from paintings by Canaletto's nephew. (B)

13 Depart Warsaw /
Berlin Time for final farewells as your tour finishes after breakfast
at the hotel in Warsaw OR join us for a free return journey to Berlin where
your tour will end upon arrival. (B)

- Berlin Historical Walking Tour
- An opportunity to explore the fascinating history of
this city. Our walking tour with a local guide includes infamous
Third Reich sites such as the site of Hitler's bunker and the former
Propaganda Ministry of Goebbels. You'll also learn about the dark
days of East German communism and visit the newly opened Holocaust
Memorial.
- Eye Spy Berlin
- Join a local guide for an evening of intrigue and
espionage, as you learn about the methods of the Stasi - the East
German secret police! Sites including Tunnel 57, the death strip and
a "ghost" underground station will bring your evening to life. Two
included drinks will make this a great start to a night out
experiencing Berlin's famous nightlife.
Prague
- Traditional Czech Evening
- A centrally located restaurant is the venue for
tonight's traditional Czech experience. Dine on a 'Bohemian Plate',
sip local wines and watch folklore dancers with live
music.
Vienna
- Vienna Classical Concert &
Dinner
- Experience Austrian grandeur tonight as you enjoy a
traditional Viennese meal in a restaurant on the grounds of the
Schönbrunn Palace. Then to the Orangerie, where a young Mozart
performed for Maria Theresa, to listen to an Orchestra performing the
timeless music of Mozart and Strauss.
Budapest
- River Cruise With Dinner
- This evening's cruise along the Danube is the perfect
way to appreciate the beauty of Budapest. Take in stunning views of
the illuminated city, whilst enjoying a buffet dinner with
drinks.
- Group Photograph
- A photo of you and all your new friends is the perfect
souvenir from your tour. The Fisherman's Bastion or Heroes' Square is
the setting for our photo.
Krakow
- Salt Mines Tour
- Visit the oldest and largest salt mine complex of its
type in the world. This UNESCO World Heritage listed sight was in use
for over 900 years and is now a fascinating museum. It contains huge
galleries, chapels and many salt sculptures - including one of the
late Pope John Paul II, who was born near Krakow.
Warsaw
- Chopin's Music Piano Recital
- Visit a former Royal Palace to hear a recital of the
music of Poland's most famous composer - Chopin, by a classical
pianist. Appreciate the beauty of his music and a glass of champagne
during intermission.
