but why fly over Europe when you can take your time and explore the cities below at leisure? That's
exactly what the Road to Rome tour offers. Paris, Venice, Florence and of course, Rome, with a little bit
of Switzerland and Germany thrown in for good measure. All roads may lead to Rome, but why not extend your
holiday and use this as your opportunity to discover Italy in depth?
Itinerary
Day 1Depart for
Europe Your exciting European trip begins.
Day 2Arrive
London Check-in to your hotel after 2pm then enjoy the day exploring
London. Tonight, meet your Tour Manager and fellow travellers for a pre-departure meeting.
Day 3London to
Paris A warm welcome from your Crew as we head for the White Cliffs of
Dover and the Channel crossing to France. We drive past World War I battlefields to the splendour of
Paris. What better way to begin than with an evening tour of the "City of Lights" and a first glimpse of
the Eiffel Tower? (D)
Day 4Paris Visit a French perfume house and then take the opportunity to
visit some of the most celebrated icons of Europe. The Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Nôtre Dame, Arc de Triomphe
and the Champs Elysées all await your arrival! Tonight, why not complete your Parisian experience with a
French meal and a famous cabaret? (B)
Day 5Paris to
Lucerne Our path takes us toward the towering Alps and the vast serene
lakes of Switzerland. Be charmed by medieval Lucerne with its Chapel Bridge and plentiful shopping
opportunities. Maybe a cruise on Lake Lucerne to enhance your ultimate Swiss encounter? (B,D)
Day 6Lucerne to
Munich We stop for lunch in the tiny Principality of Liechtenstein before
crossing into Germany and Bavaria's lively capital Munich, home to the Oktoberfest. View sights such as
the animated Glockenspiel, stroll through the shopping streets and maybe take the opportunity to
experience the atmosphere of a local beerhall. (B,D)
Day 7Munich to Austrian
Tyrol Roll on through the Tyrol’s massive mountains to a cute Austrian
village in a region famous for adventure sports. Plunge into some white-water rafting in an
adrenalin-pumping optional activity on the river. (B,D)
Day 8 Austrian Tyrol This morning, fill your lungs with clean
mountain air, jump on a bike and get into the region’s outdoor lifestyle with a fully guided optional
tour through the Tyrol’s picture perfect scenery, complete with waterfalls and mountain fields. Work up
an appetite – a BBQ lunch is waiting for you at the end! (B,D)
Day 9 Austrian Tyrol to Venice Wind through the Bavarian Alps and
Brenner Pass to Venice.Known as the “floating city”, Venice is packed with character, crammed with hidden
lanes and linked by a network of canals. (B,D)
Day 10 Venice A short boat ride takes us into the historical centre of Venice to
see St Mark's Square, the Bridge of Sighs and the Doges' Palace. Ample time to wander the bustling
streets, see the skill required to create local crafts such as Venetian glass and fine lace and visit one
of the many amazing museums. Why not treat yourself to a gondola ride and evening meal with your fellow
travellers as a perfect end to your Venetian experience? (B)
Day 11 Venice to
Florence We wind through the Apennine Mountains towards the gorgeous region
of Tuscany. We visit Pisa to see the world-famous Leaning Tower and Baptistry. This evening enjoy the
chance to stroll through the streets of this most spectacular of Renaissance cities, Florence.

Day 12 Florence The day includes a walking tour of the Piazza della Signoria, the
Duomo and Santa Croce, and a chance to shop for leather, gold and silver. In your free time maybe visit
one of the city's many museums or galleries and this evening enjoy the colourful Florentine nightlife.

Day 13 Florence to
Rome All roads lead to Rome where our included sightseeing tour is the
perfect introduction to the Eternal City. Do as the Romans do and stroll past the Trevi Fountain, the
amazing Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Take the time to discover Roman cuisine in a trattoria for a
delicious meal with some local wine. (B)
Day 14 Rome Ancient and modern Rome await your discovery. Why not take a
guided tour of the Imperial Forum and walk in the footsteps of Gladiators? In your free time explore the
Vatican City and Sistine Chapel, snap up Italian fashions or just watch the world go by with a gelato (or
two). (B,D)
Day 15 Depart
Rome Time to swap addresses and e-mail contacts as your tour finishes
after breakfast. (B)
