Elephant Explorer Singles Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Port Elizabeth to Addo Elephant Park
Addo Elephant Park is one of South Africa's biggest conservation success stories and where we spend our first night. It is now not only home to these gentle giants but also Africa's Big 5: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino. The Park has a huge variety of flora and fauna as well as a relative concentration of bird life. Enjoy the wildlife and also the tranquility of the area as you spend some time overlooking the main waterhole.

Day 2 & 3 - Addo Elephant Park to Tsitsikamma Forest National Park
As we head for Tsitsikamma Forest National Park, a really unique area with forested slopes on one side and pounding surf on the other, we pass through Jeffreys Bay. As we walk to the suspension bridge at Storms River Mouth which has amazing views, we have time to admire and enjoy the stunning surroundings. Here you will have the option of doing a canopy trail through the forest.

Day 4 & 5 - Tsitsikamma Forest National Park to Knysna
The town of Knysna offers some spectacular coastal scenery which includes the 'Knysna Heads'. Plettenberg Bay, one of the smaller towns, boasting sandy white beaches and the crystal blue waters are perfect for exploring at your leisure. It also offers fantastic vantage points for watching the southern right whales during the whale-breeding season (June - October). Here we also get the opportunity to board the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe steam train (subject to availability). The line rated as the most beautiful track in the world today, was regarded as the most costly when it was built.

Day 6 & 7 - Knysna to Oudtshoorn
Oudtshoorn is our destination as we drive inland over the Outeniqua Pass and into the semi arid region of the Karoo. Explore the famous Cango Caves, visit the Cheetahland Conservation Foundation and stroke these beautiful cats or have a look at the ostrich farm and maybe take a ride on one of these gigantic birds.

Day 8 & 9 - Oudtshoorn to Winelands
South Africa has earned great acclaim around the world for the production of excellent wines so if you are a wine connoisseur or just enjoy wine this is the perfect setting to test your taste buds. Worcester is a suitable base for access to some of the well-known wine estates in the region and is set in the beautiful Breede River Valley. What could be better than tasting and learning about the process of wine making, all at the same time? You could even ship a case home, as a gift to yourself.

Day 10 - Winelands to Cape Town
Our tour ends in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Cape Town. Do yourself a favour and make sure that you have allowed enough extra days before or after your trip, to enjoy all that the Mother City has to offer.
