Lion Safari Singles Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Johannesburg to Badplaas
Eastbound from the city of Johannesburg, we head toward the mineral springs resort of Badplaas. Known to the local people as 'Emanzana' - "the healing waters", it is a hot sulphur spring that bubbles out of the ground. Enjoy the afternoon relaxing and enjoy the springs restorative powers as you view the Hlumuhlumu Mountains.

Day 2 - Badplaas to Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, Swaziland
We arrive at the mountain Kingdom of Swaziland after a short drive. The Swazi Market, where they sell some outstanding handcrafts, is definitely the place to test your bartering skills. At Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, where we overnight, you will have the option to cycle, horse ride or walk in the park, allowing you to get a close view of the animals. The waterhole is the perfect place to watch a beautiful sunset and hippo are often seen grazing here.

Day 3 & 4 - Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary to Kruger National Park, South Africa
We re-enter South Africa and travel to the southern section of the renowned Kruger National Park. Kruger, proclaimed in 1898, offers potential sightings of Africa's Big 5: buffalo, lion, leopard, elephant and rhino. You may want to arrange an optional night drive and/or a foot safari with an armed ranger and search for the nocturnal predators.

Day 5 & 6 - Kruger National Park to Blydepoort
We encounter Pilgrim's Rest as we depart from Kruger and we explore this reconstructed gold rush town where a handful of prospectors are still seen working the streams. The spectacular sight of the Three Rondavels, Blydepoort Dam, the awesome view from Gods Window, the Berlin Falls, and Bourkes Luck Potholes are just a few of the spectacular scenic views to be enjoyed as we spend a day on Mpumalanga's Panorama Route.

Day 7 - Blydepoort to Naboomspruit
En-route to our overnight stop we travel through the Waterberg with its many streams and rivers, scenic valleys and rolling mountains - a typical African savannah. The Voortrekkers were some of the earliest settlers in the region and the area abounds with stories of these pioneers.

Day 8 & 9 - Naboomspruit to Pilanesberg National Park and Sun City
The Pilanesberg National Park, where we spend two nights, hosts an unusual landscape of extinct volcanoes. The park is amongst the most successful and biggest of the world's game relocation projects, known as "Operation Genesis", which was launched in 1979. Besides offering exceptional game viewing opportunities, there are also many optional activities on offer, such as hiking trails, elephant back safaris, night drives and hot air ballooning. A short drive from the park, we visit Sun City, which is a unique entertainment complex and boasts a casino. The grandiose Palace of the Lost City, which symbolises African culture and heritage, dominates the complex. Some of the exciting things to do and see are: the Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Centre, Health Spa, Cultural Village, Crocodile Sanctuary and the amazing Valley of the Waves.

Day 10 - Sun City to Johannesburg
We end our journey when we return to Johannesburg. This tour offers so many diverse experiences and sights, you will definitely be taking home an extensive range of African memories.
