Welcome to the Caribbean
Adventure sailing experience. You are about to partake in one of the most exciting and varied Adventures in the
Caribbean. This is a unique opportunity to participate in sailing an ocean racing yacht to beautiful, enticing
islands within the Caribbean chain.
Experience the Adventures of the
Caribbean
|
Guests are encouraged to take a full and active part in all aspects of sailing
the yacht and full instruction is given.
The trip will appeal to sailors and novices alike. The Skippers and crew are experienced in
taking groups with varying degrees of experience across the Atlantic Ocean – so you will be in good
hands.
The Adventure has been designed to provide you with the opportunity to sail to some of the less
visited Islands in the chain.
These islands were specifically chosen for the varied and unique adventure
activities they have to offer (not your average tourist route) including some wonderful Island
tours, trekking in the rainforest with experienced guides, horseback riding, diving and snorkeling
in pristine waters, visiting the Montserrat Volcano Observatory, climbing Saba and much more.
The boats are Round the World racing yachts. They have competed one
circumnavigation and countless Atlantic crossings and are solid, safe and exhilarating boats to
sail. The wide cockpit makes a perfect platform for enjoying the scenic passages, and the galley
allows for cold drinks and food to be served with ease. The yachts have two toilet facilities and
are certificated to the highest safety standards.

Itinerary
|
Sunday - Arrivals, welcome and sleep on board
Monday - Antigua to Montserrat
8:00 a.m. - Depart Antigua for a 5 hour sail to Montserrat.
12:00 p.m. - Arrive Montserrat. Spend the rest of the day and night here. Time to explore
or relax
ADVENTURE TIP – We recommend you take the opportunity to visit Garibaldi
Hill. A four-wheel drive vehicle will take you on a steep climb to appreciate the view from the
summit. Other than the Volcano Observatory and Garibaldi Hill, Montserrat is renowned for some
great walks in the rainforest, excellent snorkelling and diving and of course its rum shops -
they are not to be missed!!!
Tuesday - Montserrat to St Kitts
7:30 a.m. - Depart Montserrat for a 5 hour sail to St Kitts
12:30 p.m. - Arrive in St Kitts to explore and enjoy.
ADVENTURE TIP – Climb Mount Liamuiga. The start is a drive up to around
1200 ft and the rest is a walk up to 3750 feet. The rain forest provides a canopy against the rain
that passes by. It is fairly easy to start with, no more than your average trek but the last
quarter takes half the time as you go up and over terrain that includes fallen trees, gullies and
hopscotch over roots and rocks. You do need to be reasonably fit and the latter part of the trek
requires a head for heights.
Wednesday - Relax in St Kitts
Thursday - St Kitts to Saba and Saba to Barbuda
7:30 a.m. - Depart St Kitts for a 4 hour sail to Saba.
11:30 a.m. - Arrive Saba for diving, climbing and touring.
|
|
ADVENTURE TIP - Dive Saba to experience lava tunnels and hot
springs that show the dramatic volcanic beginnings of the island. The small leeward side hosts
gentle, medium depth, spur and groove formations. Along the edge of Saba’s sheer wall dives, divers
can see turtles and rays.
Tour the small island and relax at a cliff top restaurant in the evening
10:00 p.m. Depart Saba for Barbuda sailing overnight
Friday - Barbuda
|

|
|
8:00 a.m. Arrive Barbuda for relaxation on the white sandy beaches and
visit the bird sanctuary.
ADVENTURE TIP - Barbuda’s Frigate Bird Sanctuary is located in the island’s
northwestern lagoon and is accessible only by boat. The sanctuary contains over 170 species of
birds and is home to over 5,000 frigate birds. Your chance to see the Fregata Magnificens a bird
with a four to five foot wingspan.
Saturday - Barbuda to Antigua - Arrive back in Falmouth Harbour
for a 'welcome home' dinner and drinks at Antigua Yacht Club
Friday night can be spent on the yacht or local accomodation can be arranged at guest's cost if

About the
Islands

ST KITTS
St. Kitts , like no other island in the Caribbean, seem to embody a kind of lush tropical paradise usually
associated with the South Pacific. The atmosphere here is palpably luxuriant, an intoxicating blend of sunlight,
sea air and fantastically abundant vegetation. At the center of St. Kitts stands the spectacular, cloud-fringed
peak of Mount Liamuiga (pronounced Lee-a-mweega), a dormant volcano covered by dense tropical forest.
Still largely undiscovered, despite their extraordinary beauty, their remarkable history, and their unmatched
charm, St. Kitts & Nevis offer a rare opportunity to visit the “Secret Caribbean.”
MONTSERRAT
Some wonderful Island tours, trekking in the rainforest with experienced guides, horseback riding, diving and
snorkeling in pristine waters, visiting the Montserrat Volcano Observatory, boat trips to Plymouth to see the old
capital now largely submerged beneath the flows or simply relaxing on the beach.

Barbuda is one of those very few islands in the Caribbean that remains, and probably will remain for some time,
so undeveloped as to seem positively deserted at times. With the exception of the guests of the island’s small
number of accommodations, the population seems largely to consist of the graceful Fregata magnificens, or frigate
bird. As the birds possess a marked preference for the northwest lagoon, Barbuda’s seemingly endless white and pink
sand beaches are left to the peaceful wanderings of those lucky enough to sojourn here.
Activities on Barbuda are appropriately relaxed, including beachcombing (on the northeastern Atlantic coast),
fishing, hunting, snorkeling, diving, or simply soaking up the sun and the calm. Points of interest include the
Frigate Bird Sanctuary, the truly noteworthy pink and white sand beaches, and an abundance of shipwrecks and
beautiful reefs.

SABA
Saba is ideal for the traveler looking for a secluded haven, in peaceful and friendly surroundings. Rising
steeply from the azure sea, the tiny island in the Caribbean is a magical experience far away from the cares and
worries of today’s hurried world.
Four small villages are as quaint and charming as the gentle, friendly manner of the Saban people, descended from
hardy 17th century pioneers. Visitors feel they have stepped back in history, yet many modern luxuries are here to
be enjoyed. Saba is a monument to nature’s best above and below the ocean’s surface. The famous Saba Marine Park is
second to none. Saba is a magical place for scuba diving, hiking and admiring the nature

Antigua
Antigua is a wonderful island to spend some time relaxing at the beginning or end of your Adventure. With its
365 beaches, spectacular hills and rainforest, mangrove lined bays, nightlife, restaurants, great hotels and villas
to suit all budgets it has something for everyone. It is also the epicentre for Caribbean Sailing with a tradition
of Adventure dating back to Lord Nelson in the 1700s
