Windstar’s Wind Surf in May!The largest ship in the Windstar fleet, the Wind Surf
is a five-masted motor-sail yacht that accommodates 312 guests on itineraries to
exotic locales. The ship is known for a casually elegant environment that’s never
regimented, with such highlights as an open-air sports platform equipped with
sailboards, snorkeling gear, water skis, sailboats and kayaks. The Wind Surf is
also equipped with two pools, two hot tubs, a fitness center, salon and art
gallery. Breakfast and lunch are served alfresco in The Veranda on the top deck,
while dinner is served in three separate dining venues, each featuring a slightly
different atmosphere and cuisine. The Restaurant, the ship’s main dining room,
serves celebrity chef Joachim Splichal’s innovative menu of gourmet specialties,
and as a wonderful alternative, Degrees prepares mouthwatering steaks and Northern
Italian, French and Indonesian cuisine.

beautiful Blue Grotto, which is a stop on most
excursions, in addition to the villas built by
the Emperor Tiberius. Explore the small town
squares or take a motor launch for a view of
the coast.

Amalfi, Italy, which boasts a superb
setting and plenty of charm. The small,
inviting town with reminiscent links to Wagner
and Ibsen has some important historical sites
such as the Cathedral Sant'Andrea, a marvel of
ancient Arab-Moorish architecture. The church
crowns the lively piazza, full of shops and
throngs of people at any time of day. This
ruggedly beautiful town will guarantee you a
lovely introduction to the beauty of the famed
Amalfi coast. Then, it’s off to
Sorrento, Italy for a visit from 3pm to 11
pm. Sorrento claims one of the Amalfi Coast's
most picturesque harbors. A number of great
excursions are offered here. One of the best
takes in the whispering groves of lemon trees
along the Amalfi Drive, while another puts
passengers aboard a hydrofoil to the serene and
sunny island of Capri. Others choose the tour
to Pompeii, the fascinating ruins of a city
covered in lava and ash from the A.D. 79
eruption of Mount Vesuvius. And finally there
is the bustling city of Naples, with a unique
culture that the natives still hold
strong.
