July 4th Singles Adventure Weekend...Colorado Whitewater Rafting

Run the rapids, run the rails
Join us for a fun filled adventure singles weekend of whitewater rafting, horseback riding and riding the rails in Colorado. This singles trip is for  everyone, the first time whitewater rafter to the experienced. What a great way to spend July 4th weekend then in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

Thursday: July 3 - Denver - Canon City / Royal Gorge Route Railroad

Our singles weekend begins at 9am downtown Denver for our private chartered bus ride to Canon City.

At 12:30 we hop onboard the Royal Goarge Route Railroad for a train ride through the Royal Gorge which has been called "the most arresting scenic site in all of American railroading". The train takes us on a 24-mile journey through the 1,000 foot deep Royal Gorge, alongside the raging Arkansas River, where we'll have the opportunity to observe Bald Eagles, Blue Heron, Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, Mule Deer, and flora, native to the gorge. A gourmet lunch is served onboard.

Friday: July 4 - Full Day Whitewater Rafting  - Bighorn Sheep Canyon

Milder in the morning, wilder in the afternoon. This is the perfect beginner full day raft trip. Enjoy the beauty of the "Grand Canyon of the Arkansas". Be sure you bring along a waterproof camera to take advantage of the many photo ops that will present themselves on this singles trip. Home of Colorado's largest herd of Bighorn Sheep. A stop along the way for a delicious riverside lunch, then we will run several class II & III rapids in the afternoon.

Saturday: July 5 -  Morning Whitewater Rafting - Royal Gorge

Our singles weekend continues with the best raft trip in the state of Colorado! The Royal Gorge attracts adventure seekers from across Colorado and the nation to the experience the thrill of this nearly continuous and challenging section of whitewater. Be ready to focus and paddle hard through the class III - V turbulence that is the ROYAL GORGE. Rapids include Sunshine Falls, Sledgehammer, Wallslammer & Boateater among numerous others. The Gorge is home of the most spectacular scenery on the river as you pass under the highest suspension bridge in the world, 1053' above you. The premier Colorado rafting adventure!

Saturday: July 5 - Afternoon - Your choice of horseback riding or the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park

Experience Colorado's own world wonder, the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park. At 1,053 feet high, the panoramic vistas of the gorge are as awesome as the Grand Canyon. Spanning a quarter mile across is the world's highest suspension bridge, an engineering feat as inspiring as the Eiffel Tower.

Brave men on horseback accomplished exploration and discovery in the Colorado Rocky Mountains as they searched for possible routes through high mountain passes. Thanks to a multitude of outfitters throughout the Royal Gorge region, you can marvel at the same sites these explorers did over 150 years ago, and still be back in time for supper. From Cañon City, there are easy and exciting trails within the San Isabel National Forest and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. We will ride for 2 hours.

Sunday: July 6 - Canon City - Denver

After breakfast our private chartered bus returns to take us back to the Denver Airport for our journey home and the end of our Adventure singles weekend.

White Water Raftaing FAQ

Do I need any Rafting Experience?

Prior rafting experience is not required. The majority of people who join our expeditions are first time rafters. You'll receive a detailed safety talk before getting on the river, and it will cover every aspect of your river adventure. Once trained, an oar or paddle crew can work in harmony with their guide to maneuver a raft in the most challenging rapids. It's only natural for you to be apprehensive about running rivers, however our staff is specially trained to address your concerns and prepare you for an experience you'll never forget.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING AND WEAR?
You will be the most comfortable in things that dry quickly. If the weather is warm, and that is most typical, dress to get wet. Swimsuits, shorts and T-shirts are fine. Appropriate footwear is a must. Old pair of tennis shoes or the Teva-type sport sandals (the guides choice of footwear) is best. Wool socks or no socks. If it is expected to be a cool day, rule number one is COTTON IS WRONG! A wool sweater or fleece jacket is good to have along on any raft trip. Thet offer a complete line of clean wetsuits, spray jackets and river boots in our office for a nominal rental fee. Again, expect to get wet!

Do Trips Run If It's Raining?
All trips run rain or shine. Only rarely do we cancel due to high water. In the unlikely event that we cancel a trip, a full refund will be offered. Any person choosing not to participate because of weather will not be eligible for a refund or rain check.

Do I Have To Know How To Swim?
No! Every person on the trip will be issued a type V Personal Flotation Device better known as a life jacket. These devices are designed to float your head above the surface of the water even if you do not know how to swim.
