Singles Adventure Sailing

The "Adventure" tag applies not only to the fun, freedom and excitement of being out on the ocean on your own yacht, but also to the get-involved approach, where everyone is part of a real "crew" - not just passengers to be ferried about according to some strict itinerary, or the whim of the captain.

There's no obligation to pull on ropes if you don't want to - but if you'd like to learn more about sailing, they would love to teach you. For already experienced sailors - hey, great ! - come take the helm and tweak the sails as much as you like ! Though they have provisional itineraries, they are always changeable according to the preferences of the group - and of course, the whims of the wind gods ! The singles trips are as flexible and laid-back as possible; as fun and hedonistic as the islands themselves.

"Adventure" also applies to the sort of places you will sail. To some of the more well-known spots, sure - but they also venture way beyond the usual tourist tracks; you will explore the isolated islands & villages only accessible by sailboat - or maybe bribing a local fisherman ! These are the islands you'll never find in any travel agents' window... some of the few remaining unspoiled pockets where traditional Greek culture and hospititality are still very much alive.

What's more, the crews have been sailing these waters for 12yrs now - and are pretty much part of the family in these little islands. So the SeaScape sailors always get a real warm welcome whenever their yachts sail into port !

So - this is no cruise ship - it's a real sailing experience! They won't make your beds or clean up your junk - although they may well serve up the gin n' tonics as you swing in a hammock! They will however, teach you to sail if you wish; take you Greek dancing where the locals go, introduce you to the delights of Turkish baths - and sail you to some of the most beautiful and unspoiled spots still remaining in these waters....

The Greece-AND-Turkey trips sail to our favorite islands in the Dodecanese; from tiny fishing villages where the traditional Greek spontaneity and lively spirit lives on - to the bright lights and party nights of the more developed islands, where one can eat, drink and be merry in modern-day Greece!

Turkey is a land of even more contrasts! From the busy, cosmopolitan port of Bodrum, it's fascinating and fun bazaars, St John's Castle and hopping night life  - to the total contrast of the ancient port of Knidos, dating back to 500BC.... ruins and ancient amphitheatres scattered all around the bay where we anchor.

The other favourite spots tend to be the quieter, less "touristy" parts of Turkey, where our local friends give us a real family welcome. You will explore more ancient sites, luxuriate in Turkish baths - and even learn to belly-dance!

Everything on board is included..These are small sailing yachts - 8 singles capacity - usually a few yachts will sail together.

Singles Sailing Tidbits

Greece-Turkey

Turkey  Greece

Daytime temps in early & late season (May, Oct) would be around mid 60sC; midsummer max temperatures would be around mid/high 80s. The humidity is very low, so it rarely feels TOO hot, even in Aug (though it is a good plan to stay out of cities and be out on the water then!)

Another chance to experience two countries in one trip - we'll be starting in Turkey and exploring her lovely Turquoise Coast for the first week... then sailing north to our favorite little Greek islands for the second week of adventures!

Greece 1 Week

Greece 2 Week

If you're a keen sailor (or enthusiastic newbie), this trip could be a good pick - plenty of wind and fun sailing conditions! Lots of swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing on deck too - this is a great time of year for sun lovers. Even though the main summer season is in full swing, mid July is still not too crowded in our lovely little off-the-beaten-track islands.

Our "Younger singles" group - early 20s, 30s early 40s Aug is the lively, "party" time to be out in the islands! We still escape to some of our quieter, little-known spots too, of course; but it's the time to visit if you like an active, get-out-there vacation and lots of fun nightlife too. It's also the windiest time of year, lots of exciting sailing for those who like a little adrenalin in their diet !

Thailand

Phuket-Langkawi

All the ingredients one could ever ask from a tropical sailing vacation... stunningly beautiful scenery, a multitude of uncrowded anchorages; underwater wonderlands of coral and multicoloured fish; fun nightlife if you want it, peace and tranquilty if not.

Borneo

Langkawi - Borneo Sailing Rally

Our 55' catamaran, we'll be joining a social rally sailing from Langkawi to Borneo - exploring the lesser-known eastern side of Malaysia, the stunning dive sites of the Tioman islands, and then the jungles, rivers and exotic wildlife of Borneo.

The Bottom Line: What will it cost?

Our philosophy is very simple; our costs are as inclusive as we can sensibly make them. We figure most people would prefer to know ahead of time what the total vacation cost is; not have to worry about little additional surprises along the way!

On our Adventure Sailing trips, once you get on the boat, everything on board is covered. We provide provisions for breakfasts, lunches, drinks (yes, that includes open bar - local liquors, beer & wine). The only thing we don't include is dinners - the local taverna experience ashore is much too much fun to miss!

So unlike the usual yacht charter in the Med - there's no unexpected extras to catch you out halfway ("Oh, you didn't realise how much this marina costs?" or "That'll be another 300 euros for the fuel bill, thank you very much!" ).

With the more usual bareboat-plus-skipper arrangement, you're up for everything else - fuel, water, mooring, insurance, local taxes, food, on board bar bills - even the skipper's food and drink!

SeaScape's philosophy is that nasty $$ surprises don't do anything for a relaxing vacation - and we emphatically don't work that way. We'd prefer you to eat, drink and be merry - without worrying how much extra it will cost!

Our price does include:

  • Breakfasts
  • Lunches
  • Soft drinks
  • Open bar (local beers, wines & liquors)
  • Skipper
  • Informal sailing instruction if desired
  • Fuel
  • Water
  • Mooring fees
  • Security deposit / insurance

It does not include:

  • Dinners ashore
  • Transport to and from the boats - airfares, transfers
  • Personal & medical insurance
  • Personal visas (when applicable)
