Banos, Ecuador is quickly becoming one of the least kept secrets in terms of travel destinations. A humble city on the surface, Banos is located in the heart of Ecuador and features some of the most spectacular natural attractions in South America.

Banos and the surrounding countryside have less than 20,000 people total, yet the town has become a major tourist center thanks to some of the incredible scenery and impressive sights that are pulling in singles travel and group travel vacationer to see this exotic landscape.

Banos itself is named after the many hydrothermal springs with dot the land around the city and helped draw the earliest inhabitants to this remarkable area. Steeped in the Roman Catholic religion, this town is viewed by many as special thanks to reported sightings of the Virgin Mary at a nearby waterfall.

For most of its history, Banos was a sleepy little town that only came alive when the nearby volcano would rumble. However, today the town has become a major tourism center for those who seek all types of adventures.

Rafting, Kayaking, and Cayoning: You can enjoy many different water sports and adventures in the Banos area thanks to the many tributaries that surround the town. The spectacular sights and lush growth will provide many hours of sightseeing while rafting or kayaking down the rivers in the area.
