Singapore - Hong Kong New Years Singles Vacation - Daily Itinerary

singapore flyerVacation Day 1 - Arrive Singapore

Singapore's history, culture, people, shopping and food are waiting to be discovered and diversity doesn't get any wider than in Singapore. Home to multitudes of communities, cultures and religions, each is accompanied by a rich heritage that dates far back. We'll explore this once sleepy fishing village turned into a cosmopolitan city.
Upon arrival at the Singapore international airport and take the provided shuttle to the group's hotel. No activities are planned for the day to give everyone a chance to arrive. Meet your hostess at 7pm for a meet and greet and optional dinner.

Vacation Day 2 - Singapore and Beyond
Singapore Hong Kong Malay village
Our full day guided tour begins with a drive through the city of Singapore, stopping at Merlion Park for a photo-op with The Merlion, a mythological creature that is part lion and part fish. Our tour continues to Thian Hock Keng Temple, one of Singapore’s oldest Buddhist-Taoist temples, before we proceed to the National Orchid Garden, located within Singapore Botanic Gardens, boasting a sprawling display of 60,000 orchid plants. Then a quick stop at Little India will entice you to return with the scent of jasmine and spices.
This afternoon we travel to the Malay Village of Singapore to experience their cultural heritage and to view life in a Malay kampung in the 50's and 60's. Then we visit the Changi Chapel and Museum. The Japanese interred the Allied prisoners of World War II at the Changi Prison and the POWs created a simple chapel for a place of solace. The chapel was recreated in Singapore Hong Kong Chinatown Night Singapore1988 and we can view photos, drawings and letters by POWs.
Chinatown has come a long way since its early days and is now filled with a sprawling myriad of shops and eateries. After dinner at a local Chinese restaurant, we will wander along the narrow lanes of the Night Market and test our bargaining skills against street vendors selling everything from souvenirs to leather goods. The highlight of our evening is a trishaw ride that will take us through the alleyways of Chinatown and down to Clarke Quay. There we hop onto a bumboat for a cruise along the Singapore River to see Singapore lit up at night.
