Cambodia Singles Vacation Itinerary

Cambodia Siem ReapExtension Day 1: Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Upon arrival this morning at the Phnom Penh airport we will be greeted and transferred to our hotel.
Then with our professional guide we start our visit of Phnom Penh. Situated at the confluence of the Mekong and Tonle Sap Rivers, Cambodia's capital city looks like a big village where French colonial influences can still be seen in old buildings restored.
Our first stop is Wat Phnom Temple, a Buddhist temple built in 1372. At 88 1/2 feet  it is the tallest religious structure in the city. Next we will visit the Royal Palace, a complex of buildings which serves as the royal residence of the kings of Cambodia since it was built in 1866. The Silver Pagoda, located in the palace complex features a royal temple and houses many national treasures such as gold and jeweled Buddha statues.
This afternoon, we visit the National Museum, which is dedicated to Khmer art and sculpture. Most of the artwork is from the Angkor period (9th to 15th century), and some from the 4th century. Now it is time to pay our respects at the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum before we enjoy a boat cruise on the Mekong River to watch the sunset over Phnom Penh.

Extension Day 2: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap, Cambodia
Cambodia Angkor Wat Sun setAfter breakfast we stop at the Russian Market, a crowded bazaar, very popular among tourists and expats and the best place to pick up souvenirs. We will find everything from beautifully hand carved statues, colorful lanterns and handmade silk scarves to fake bags, printed T-shirts and DVDs. Next it is off the airport for our quick flight to Siem Reap.
The highlight of Cambodia is Angkor Wat, built during the early years of the 12th century by Suryavaram II, is considered the biggest Asian pyramid. Angkor Wat honors the Hindu god Vishnu and is a symbolic representation of Hindu cosmology. This temple is the largest and most breathtaking temple of the whole complex and is 213 feet high and divided in several layers. The central part has four towers in the shape of a lotus flower and the most famous decorations of Angkor are more than 300 heavenly nymphs (Apsara).
Sunset at Angkor Wat is not to be missed so get your cameras ready.

Cambodia Angkor Wat Gate2Extension Day 3: Siem Reap, Cambodia
Angkor Thom (Khmer: "Great City"), established in the late 12th century, was the last capital city. We enter the South Gate of this walled and moated royal city recaptured from the Cham invaders in 1181. The building of Angkor Thom began with existing structures such as Baphuon and Phimeanakas. Then a grand enclosed city was built around them, adding the outer wall/moat and some of Angkor's greatest temples including the state-temple, Bayon, set at the center of the city. There are five gates to the city each crowned with 4 giant faces.
Visit the Jungle Temple (Ta Prohm) where famous movies have been filmed.
No visit to Cambodia is complete without attending a traditional Khmer dance performance, often referred to as 'Apsara Dance' after one of the most popular Classical dance pieces. Tonight we will enjoy dinner and a performance.

Extension Day 4: Siem Reap, Cambodia - Airport
After breakfast it is sady to say but our Cambodia extension comes to an end as you transfer to the airport and your flight home.
