The Nation's Capital bustles with attractions for those craving a look at history, culture, and architecture. Join our Single Travel Group as we admire the famous monuments and visit the many museums. Pay your respects at Arlington National Cemetery and step inside famous government buildings. But you haven't seen Washington DC until you've seen it at night!


Washington DC Singles Weekend Daily Itinerary

War Memorial at nightVacation Day 1: Wednesday - Arrive Washington DC - Night Tour 
Your weekend begins when you land at one of the Washington DC Airports and make your way to our hotel, the Hampton Inn Washington-Downtown. Check in and meet your tour leader at 5:00pm to walk to a local restaurant for dinner (not included) before our night tour begins.
Explore the famous monuments and war memorials of Washington, DC by the moonlight on tonight's tour. Relax and enjoy this one of kind experience seeing the great memorials illuminated at night


Vacation Day 2: Thursday - Ford's Theater - Smithsonian National Museum of American History
Fords TheaterAfter breakfast step back in time as we visit Ford's Theater. Explore exhibits on Lincoln’s presidency, Civil War milestones and the assassination conspiracy led by John Wilkes Booth. Then we go inside the historic theater, that looks very much the way it did that fateful night. The President's Box is decorated with an American flag and a portrait of President George Washington, just as it was in 1865. Learn about President Lincoln’s assassination from two men who were there. Actor Harry Hawk and Ford’s Theatre co-owner Harry Ford.
Lincoln PostersThe Aftermath Exhibits takes us to Washington street the morning after Lincoln's assassination. Follow Lincoln’s funeral train back to his hometown in Springfield, Illinois. In an interactive exhibit, learn about the crowds that gathered to mourn the president each time the train stopped. As Lincoln’s body traveled back to Illinois, authorities hunted for John Wilkes Booth. In our exhibits, follow the 12-day manhunt for Booth and learn about his capture in Virginia. Learn about the trial and fate of Booth’s co-conspirators.
miss piggy smithsonianAfter time for lunch we will spend two hours in both of these Smithsonian Museums: The National Museum of American History and the Air and Space Museum. The diverse collections of the National Museum of American History reflect a wide variety of subjects relating to the history of the United States as well as the history of science, medicine, and technology. The music collection contains more than 5,000 instruments and the popular entertainment collection holds some of the Smithsonian's most beloved artifacts, such as the ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz and the Muppet character Kermit the Frog,
Air Space MuseumNext we will make our way over to the Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum. With thousands of objects on display, including the 1903 Wright Flyer, Charles Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis, the Apollo 11 Command Module Columbia, and a lunar rock you can touch. In addition to the exhibition galleries, you may want to visit the Albert Einstein Planetarium, Lockheed Martin IMAX® Theater, and the Public Observatory on the east terrace.
After a long day of touring, tonight enjoy our Welcome Dinner close to the hotel.


Vacation Day 3: Friday - Full Day Tour - Arlington National Cemetery - National Portrait Gallery
white houseSee Washington D.C.'s most memorable sites with our knowledgeable and passionate local guide. Our 7 hour tour will give us a comprehensive look at the intricate history of D.C. and we will visit the most iconic landmarks and monuments in the city. Our tour includes a guided visit to Arlington Cemetery, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Korean War Memorial, FDR Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, the World War II Memorial, Iwo Jima Memorial, Air Force Memorial, Martin Luther King, Jr., National Memorial, and the Holocaust Memorial Museum. We will also see the U.S. Capitol, the White House, the National Archives, Embassy Row, the National Cathedral, Georgetown, the National Portrait GalleryWatergate Hotel, the Kennedy Center, FBI Headquarters, the Navy Memorial, and much more.
Before dinner tonight we will stop at the National Portrait Gallery, a must-see for pop culture fans, history buffs and art lovers alike. From activists and actors to presidents and poets, the museum displays paintings, photographs and sculptures of the people that have come to define America as we know it.


Vacation Day 4, Saturday - U.S. Capitol and Free Afternoon - Chinatown Farewell Dinner
CapitolThere's nothing quite like the majestic sight of the U.S. Capitol, with its towering cast-iron dome topped by the bronze Statue of Freedom. This morning we take a guided tour of this historic building beginning at one of the orientation theaters with a 13-minute film, "Out of Many, One," which will take us on a journey through our country's struggle to establish the world's first truly representative democracy and introduce us to the magnificent building that houses our Congress. Once inside the historic Capitol, we will see the Crypt, the Rotunda, and National Statuary Hall. All tours begin and end at the Capitol Visitor Center.
Chinatown DCThere is so much to see and do in Washington DC, and this afternoon you get to choose what to do. Visit a museum, take an optional tour, rent a bike, or just spend the afternoon relaxing om the National Mall.
Washington, DC's Chinatown is a small historic neighborhood close to our hotel and a perfect location for our Farewell Dinner. The Friendship Arch, a traditional Chinese gate, prominently marks the neighborhood


Vacation Day 5, Sunday - Depart Washington DC
After breakfast, as time permits have a final farewell stroll along the National Mall. Then check out our hotel 12:00pm and make your way to the airport. Say farewell to all your new travel friends as a another great singles weekend comes to an end.
