Calgary Stampede & Fair
40's - 50's and 60's+ Singles Vacation
July 10 - July 14, 2019
Billed as ‘The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth’, the Calgary Stampede is an annual rodeo, exhibition and festival held every July in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Attracting over one million visitors per year, including our singles travel group the Calgary Stampede is one of world's richest rodeos. The town comes alive during the Calgary Stampede with the city taking on a party atmosphere. The festival spirit can be seen everywhere including office buildings and storefronts painted in cowboy themes and residents and tourists dressing in western wear and cowboy hats.
The Stampede is much more then a rodeo, take in the high energy canine performers at the Dog Bowl, test your hand at driving a chuckwagon at the GMC Green Screen VR booth, or get hands-on and participate in rock climbing, paintball and axe-throwing. While you are here, don’t miss your chance for bragging rights and try out the most extreme rides on the Midway—the Slingshot and the Skyscraper.

stampede horse rodeoOur last day at the Stampede and one of the most exciting as we get to see the best of the best as they saddle up for a 3-hour ground shaking showcase of world-class rodeo action. There are Saddle Bronco and Bareback riding events followed by the most dangerous event of all — Bull Riding where cowboys engage in a test of nerves against a bull. The cowboy must keep his arm from straightening and his hand from breaking loose before the end of the ride but isn’t required to move his feet—staying on is hard enough.
Barrel racing requires control, attention to detail, and close cooperation between horse and rider. Competing against the clock, contestants circle three barrels in a cloverleaf pattern and race back across the scoreline. Time is measured with an electronic eye timer, and a hundredth fireworks display midway stampedeof a second can determine who wins.
