Venice, like all other regions in Italy, has its own food specialities. Cookery holidays to Venice and the Veneto region offer a wonderful opportunity to explore the culinary traditions of the region. Obviously, due to the proximity to the sea, there are a large selection of seafood dishes to choose from. Not only is the lagoon known for its fresh seawater dishes, there are also an interesting number of inland fresh fish dishes. Preserving fish either by marinating them or keeping them in salt water was a very common technique that still continues to this day.

Benvenuti! Welcome to the Veneto! Our Flavours transfer will meet you at Marco Polo Airport upon arrival. Once you arrive at the villa, you can settle in, meet your host and enjoy welcome drinks. Dinner tonight at the villa, prepared by your chef.

Sunday

After breakfast you will have your first hands-on cookery lesson with the chef, followed by lunch. In the afternoon you’ll have the afternoon to relax before dinner at the villa.

Monday

Following breakfast, our transfer will collect the group and take you to Venice. Here you will have the day at your leisure to wander around this stunning city. Whether you choose to explore the mysterious passageways by foot or float along the maze of canals, Venice offers an abundance of stunning architecture and breath-taking views. Lunch will be at our favourite local Bacaro, sampling the city’s classic cicchetti. Later this afternoon, you will return to the villa for dinner.

Tuesday

After breakfast, we’ll head to Treviso to visit the Isolotto della Pescheria, Treviso’s famous fish market. There will be time to explore this fascinating walled town before travelling to a nearby vineyard for a Prosecco tasting and lunch. Later this afternoon, you will return to the villa for another hands-on cookery lesson with the chef, enjoying your dishes for dinner.

Wednesday

After breakfast, you will be cooking in the kitchen with your chef, followed by lunch. The afternoon is yours to relax at the villa, before dinner tonight, prepared by your chef.

Thursday

This morning is your fourth cookery lesson, followed by lunch. The afternoon will be spent in the charming town of Conegliano. Explore the historic town centre before dinner in our favourite local trattoria.

Friday

After breakfast, you will have your final cookery lesson and lunch. Spend your last afternoon relaxing at the villa and in the evening, enjoy a special farewell dinner prepared by your chef.

Saturday

After breakfast some time to pack before our transfer will collect you and take you back to Marco Polo Airport for your fight home. Arrivederci!

You will then enjoy a cocktail masterclass and try some Christmas inspired cocktails before sitting down for a traditional Scottish dinner this evening.

Tuesday

Begin the day with breakfast at the castle with your fellow guests, then our driver will pick you up and take you into to Edinburgh to start your foodie walking tour. You will enjoy at Flavours new head office in Dean Village and then you can wander through the famous Christmas markets. Its back to the castle and Dinner will be prepared by Carlowrie’s famous chef.

Wednesday

After breakfast, you will have your festive inspired cooking demo with the Carlowrie chef and then you will enjoy lunch with your fellow guests. Early evening before dinner you will visit the Botanics to enjoy the festive lights and then its back to the castle for Dinner prepared by Carlowrie’s famous chef and a dram or two.

Thursday

Begin the day with breakfast at the Castle with your fellow guests. The morning will be spent making Christmas cards with your painting tutor. Lunch will be at the castle and then after lunch you will be making Christmas wreaths with you resident interior designer. You will celebrate your final evening in Carlowrie with a food and wine pairing dinner. Slàinte!

Friday

Monday

Fàilte gu Aberfeldy! You will arrive at your luxurious Highland lodge where you can settle in, meet your host and chef and enjoy a traditional afternoon tea with welcome drinks. You then have time to explore the lodge and the stunning surrounding 5.5 acres of land. Join your fellow guests for pre dinner drinks and a traditional Scottish dinner this evening at the lodge.

Tuesday

After breakfast our driver will pick you up and you will go on a foodie trail of Perthshire. We make our way to Dunkeld to visit the Dunkeld Smoked salmon this small local producer dry cure the salmon in salt and smoke it over whisky oak barrels. There are lots of local produce to sample in this town. We finish off our foodie tour with a visit to the Aran bakery run by runner up of the Great British bake off. Back to the lodge for lunch prepared by your chef. After lunch you will have your cooking demo with your chef using the produce from your foodie trail. Dinner will be at lodge this evening.

Wednesday

After breakfast, you will head into Aberfeldy, a small market town famous for being mentioned in the poem The Birks Of Aberfeldy by Robert Burns. You will enjoy a wander round this quaint town and then will enjoy a tour and tasting at the Artisan coffee Roaster Glen Lyon. Lunch will be at the lodge followed by a chocolate tasting with local chocolatier, Charlotte Flowers. You will start your first cooking demo with your chef and will prepare dinner for this evening in the lodge.

Thursday

After breakfast, you will be enjoying a whisky tasting at a local distillery and then its back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will have your final cooking demo with your chef.Then you will enjoy a Scottish-style farewell dinner. Slàinte!

Friday

After breakfast, you have time for one last wander round the grounds of the lodge and any last minute packing before our drivers come to collect you and take you back to Edinburgh Airport or Edinburgh Waverley station. Haste ye back!

Jilly was runner up in the competition and since then has expanded her culinary experiences: appearing at festivals; working with national brands; holding supper clubs; and offering her services as a private chef. She is a full-time teacher of History and Politics, but uses every spare minute creating new recipes and pursuing her love of food. She was also a Scottish rugby internationalist, appearing 47 times for Scotland and captaining her country in the Six Nations Championship.

You will sit back and enjoy the sights of this stunning Loch. We return to the estate for dinner.

Wednesday

After a hearty breakfast, we will make our way to Glengoyne distillery and enjoy a whisky tasting and tour. We return to the estate for lunch and then you will have your cooking demonstration with your chef. Dinner will be at the estate.

Thursday

After breakfast, we will take a visit to a local farm to find about organic farming, how things have changed since the 1950s and then enjoy a tea or coffee with some home baking. Lunch will be at the estate and then you have your cooking lesson with your chef/ or Guest chef. Then enjoy your Scottish-style farewell dinner with your guests. Slàinte!

Friday

Amalfi Coast - Mediterranean Cooking Class Vacations For Single Travelers and Friends

The Amalfi region is truly one of the most idyllic on earth. From the time of Etruscans to present movie stars, this has been area that has long enchanted travelers. Sundry excursions during this week-long Amalfi culinary vacation will take you from the posh island of Capri to the ancient ruins of Pompeii, and the cobblestoned medieval streets of Amalfi at the cliff's base. An expanse of precarious road will take you between villages, running through lush greenery and vineyards nestled in the folds of the jagged cliffs.

Towering above the sea at the edge of a cliff, villa Praiano dominates a commanding position on the Amalfi Coast. The villa points out over the sea like the prow of a ship, with a beautiful view of the plunging cliffs along the coast. Set into the limestone cliffs, our villa does have a moderate amount of steps. The terrace below the villa provides a beautiful view out over the sea, perfect for an aperitivo before dinner. There is a private sea-water swimming pool with steps down to the sea.

Vacation Day 1 - Saturday
Our Flavours transfer will meet you at Naples Airport and take you to the villa for welcome drinks on the terrace followed by dinner prepared by our local chef.

Vacation Day 2 - Sunday
After breakfast you will have your first cookery lesson with the chef, enjoying the results for lunch. The afternoon is free to enjoy as you wish. Dinner is prepared for you at the villa.

Vacation Day 3 - Monday
After breakfast, this morning, explore Amalfi, with a chance to see the sights and stop for a spot of shopping. Lunch will be at our favourite local restaurant. Later this afternoon return to the villa to relax by the pool before dinner.

Vacation Day 4 - Tuesday
Following breakfast visit the hilltop town of Ravello, where you can sightsee, shop or have a wander round its ancient streets. From here, you’ll be taken to a local producer of Mozzarella for a traditional tasting. Return to the villa for lunch and your second cookery lesson in the afternoon, testing out your dishes for dinner.

Vacation Day 5 - Wednesday
After breakfast, enjoy another hands-on cookery lesson and lunch at the villa. This afternoon is free to relax in the villa, take advantage of the swimming pool or catch some sun on the villa’s cliff top terraces. Dinner tonight is prepared by your chef at the villa.

Vacation Day 6 - Thursday

8 Day Italian Cooking Class Vacations in Tuscany, Italy
FOR Singles & Friends

Tuscany is world famous for its food, its rich culture and its stunning landscapes. Get lost in Florence’s tangle of ancient streets taking in the facades of its art-studded churches and museums. Take a walk around Lucca’s city centre which is almost completely closed off to traffic and surrounded by medieval walls – the ideal place to stroll around and window shop. Discover San Gimignano, a small hilltop city full of ancient towers, and a lovely place to while away the afternoon. There’s lots to discover on our Italian Cooking Holidays in Tuscany.
April, May, October in Tuscany are quite mild, not hot or cold. There are less tourists around and the cities are quieter. June and September are lovely and warm without being too hot. This is the ideal time to travel weather-wise but also the busiest time to be in Tuscany. July and August are the hottest & sunniest months. If you like the heat, this is the time to go.

Discovering Sicilian cookery is like discovering Sicilian history. Various civilizations – Greek, Roman, Arabs, Normans, Spanish and British – have left their mark and from the gastronomic point of view, their influence is still in evidence in modern day Sicilian cooking. Courses in Sicily are 8 days/7 nights and are based at the enchanting Villa Sicily. To let you discover the flavors of Sicily, the venue in the south east of the island: the place where it all began. The surrounding area is dotted with well know historical sites – such as Siracusa Greek Theatre, the Temples of Agrigento and various Baroque towns such as Noto and Ragusa – as well as popular gastronomic locations such as Pachino for cherry tomatoes, Modica for chocolate, Avola for almonds and wine, Ragusa for Caciocavallo cheese and so on.

The villa where the Cooking Vacation is held, is situated on a private estate, is of typical Sicilian style and dates back to 1848. Chosen because of its location, it has some beautiful views of the surrounding areas. Upon waking in the morning, to a clear blue sky, you can enjoy breakfast outside and soak up the sea views.

The luxurious bedrooms, all decorated in a modern style, are ensuite. Each room has a view of either the sea, almond grove or the Sicilian countryside.

Within the grounds of the estate there is an outdoor pool, which is encircled by almond and olive trees. After a dip, you can sit back and relax on the terrace and enjoy the sight and sound of the sea.

Sicily Cooking Vacation Itinerary:
Day 1 - Sunday

Our Flavours transfer will meet you at Catania Airport and take you to the villa where you can enjoy welcome drinks and dinner prepared by our local chef.

Day 2 - Monday

After breakfast, your first cookery lesson with our local chef, followed by lunch. You are free in the afternoon to relax by the pool or in the grounds of the villa. Dinner is served this evening by your chef at the villa.

Day 3 - Tuesday

You will enjoy a private tour, lunch and wine-tasting at a local winery. In the late afternoon your second hands-on cookery lesson will take place, followed by dinner.

Day 4 - Wednesday

Visit the coastal town of Siracusa and have lunch. Travel to Noto to taste local ice cream at a classic Gelateria. Tonight’s dinner will be at the villa.

Day 5 - Thursday

After breakfast, enjoy another hands-on cookery lesson and lunch at the villa. This afternoon is free to relax by the pool. Dinner this evening is at the villa.

Day 6 - Friday

Another cookery lesson in the morning before heading to Modica, to taste its famous chocolate. Have an evening meal at our favourite local restaurant.

Day 7 - Saturday

Following breakfast, a cookery lesson and lunch you will be free to relax for the afternoon at the villa by the pool. In the evening, we will enjoy our final meal at the villa.

Day 8 - Sunday

After breakfast our transfer will take you back to Catania Airport for your flight home. Arrivederci!

The Cooking Vacations is held in the beautiful Casino Pisanelli. The venue was built in the 18th century and is surrounded by acres of olive groves. It has recently been featured in Homes & Gardens magazine, in an article entitled Italian Renaissance.

With a long and beautiful coastline you are never far from the sea in Puglia so it’s not surprising that fish is a local staple and a focus of our Cooking Vacation in Puglia. Other ingredients close to the local chef’s heart include mouth watering ricotta cheese, chickpeas, capers, green peppers, aubergines, mozzarella and basil. There are fantastic market gardens in this region so the vegetables are locally grown, very fresh and often organic. The itinerary includes a visit to the Otranto Market, so that you can experience one of these wonderful markets for yourself!

Undiscovered and off the beaten track, Puglia forms the "heel" of Italy, bordered by the Adriatic Sea to the east and the Ionian Sea to the south. An ideal location for a gourmet holiday, it has the longest coast of any Italian region, eight hundred kilometres of coastline stretching down the Adriatic and around the heel into the high arch of the lonian Sea and the Gulf of Taranto. This heel reaches out towards the Eastern Mediterranean, and at times the landscape has the look and feel of Greece rather than the gentler Italy of Rome and the North.

Described as one of the most beautiful houses by the sea (Elle Décor 2005) and featured in the September 2007 issue of Homes & Gardens Magazine, the property dates back to the 18th Century when it was used by the local aristocrat, Count Pisanelli as a hunting lodge. It has recently been lovingly restored using the skills of local craftsmen and artisans to produce a stunning blend of modern and traditional Italian style. As well as the swimming pool, cleverly integrated into the formal gardens, there are also courtyards with lemon and orange trees - the perfect setting for meals al fresco! Surrounding the lodge are acres of olive groves which provide delicious extra virgin olive oil throughout the week.

Our Flavours transfer will meet you at Brindisi Airport and take you to the villa for welcome drinks and time to relax before dinner prepared by our local chef.

Sunday

After breakfast, you will have your first cookery lesson with our lovely local chef, followed by lunch. In the afternoon, a visit to Santa Maria di Leuca (at the very tip of the Salentine Peninsula, where the Ionian and Adriatic Seas meet). Enjoy an aperitivo before dinner at the villa.

Monday

After breakfast, enjoy your second hands-on cookery lesson followed by lunch. Afternoon is free to relax by the swimming pool or take a cycle ride to a nearby village. Dinner at the villa.

Tuesday

Leave after breakfast for shopping and sight-seeing in Lecce, the ‘Florence of the South.’ Lunch is at a local trattoria. Drive to Otranto situated by the sea, and visit the famous cathedral. Return late afternoon for dinner.

Wednesday

This morning, another cooking lesson with your chef followed by lunch. In the afternoon enjoy a private wine tasting at a local winery. Dinner at the villa tonight.

Thursday

After breakfast, a cooking lesson followed by lunch. Late afternoon visit Gallipoli and wander around the old town. Dinner at an excellent local fish restaurant.

Friday

Enjoy your final cookery lesson this morning and then lunch. The afternoon is free to sunbathe or relax. A farewell dinner will be prepared for you.

Saturday

After breakfast your transfer will collect you and return you to the airport.
