7 Nights and 8 Days Painting Vacation in Tuscany

Stunning views are essential for a painting holiday in Italy and that is why our villas are hand-picked to find the perfect location. Our villa in Tuscany is situated in the countryside on a private estate. We have carefully chosen an area of Tuscany famous for its breathtaking scenery to inspire our guests. When you are not painting, take some time to relax by the pool and wander the grounds of the estate. All the villa’s bedrooms are ensuite and decorated in a contemporary style. Day - 1

Our transfer will meet you at Pisa Airport and take you to the villa for welcome drinks on the terrace followed by dinner.

Day - 2

This morning you have your first sketching and painting session with your teacher. This will include discussing the course outline, aims and expectations and getting started. The session will be followed by lunch prepared by your chef. The afternoon is yours to continue sketching and painting, or to relax by the pool. Dinner is prepared for you at the villa.

Day - 3

This morning, your tutor will demonstrate landscape painting to the group after breakfast, looking at different ways to apply watercolour and mixing media like pastel and coloured pencil. Following lunch, there will be an outing to use the techniques. Dinner will be at the villa.

Day - 4

After breakfast, we will travel to a beautiful local town to enjoy a day sight-seeing, sketching or shopping at your leisure. Lunch will be at our favourite local trattoria. Before dinner, the tutor will discuss your work so far.

Day - 5

After breakfast, there will be a lesson in the elements of composition and colour. Lunch will be served on the terrace. The afternoon is free to enjoy as you wish around the grounds of the villa or relaxing by the pool. Dinner will be at the villa tonight, prepared by your chef.

Day - 6

A chance today to try larger and more ambitious work using the sketches and ideas you have accumulated so far. Following lunch, there will be an afternoon visit to another local town with an opportunity to sketch. Enjoy dinner at an excellent local restaurant.

Day - 7

Today is your final day of drawing and painting, with time to finish off your works and relax at the villa. Later this evening, we’ll have an exhibition of your art work to the group, followed by a special farewell dinner prepared by your chef.

Day - 8

After breakfast, our private transfer will take you back to Pisa Airport for your onward journey. Arrivederci!

Day - 1

Benvenuti! Welcome to Sicily! You’ll arrive at the villa where you can settle in, meet your teacher, chef and host and enjoy welcome drinks. Dinner this evening is at the villa, prepared by your chef.

Day - 2

After breakfast, you’ll have your first lesson. To begin, Your tutor will introduce all the materials you will be using and then altogether you’ll explore the villa and its grounds with your sketchbook, sketching the olive trees and the ancient walls of the villa. After lunch, you will be focusing on composition and drawing. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to enjoy at the villa and the pool area before dinner.

Day - 3

Today, you will visit the coastal town of Siracusa where your tutor will give a quick demo to get you started to capture the essence of this vibrant city and find the perfect vista. After a morning sketching and painting, head to our favourite local trattoria in the old part of the city, Ortigia, for lunch. In the afternoon, travel to Noto to take in the stunning valley views for a lesson on landscape painting. Dinner tonight is prepared by your chef back at the villa.

Day - 4

Following breakfast, you will head out to Marzamemi, a local fishing village famous for catching tuna fish to have your morning lessson. You will enjoy a light lunch at a local Osteria. In the afternoon, you’ll have time to continue sketching. Dinner will be prepared by your chef at the villa.

Day - 5

After breakfast, your tutor will also give a lesson focusing on drawing buildings with a guide to simplifying perspective. You will spend the rest of the day at the villa with time to continue their work, or relax by the pool and in the villa grounds. Lunch and dinner will be at the villa, prepared by your chef.

Day - 6

After breakfast, enjoy another painting lesson. After lunch, you’ll head to the beautiful city of Modica and Ragusa where you will explore baroque churches, stunning views over the valley, and sculpture gardens. The beautifully manicured Giardino Ibleo gardens are the ideal location to sketch before settling down to paint. Tonight’s dinner will be at our favorite local trattoria.

Day - 7

Following breakfast, you’ll have the chance to add the finishing touches to your artwork and discuss any questions or ask for any final words of advice. After lunch, we’ll mount up your favourite artwork and hang them in the studio ready for the evening’s exhibition. Afterwards, enjoy a special farewell dinner at the villa, prepared by your chef.

Day - 8

After breakfast, our transfer will collect you and take you back to Catania Airport for your flight home. Arrivederci!

After breakfast, you will have an introduction to watercolour; looking at basic techniques, different kinds of paper, and brushes etc. The afternoon is yours to relax or paint more. Dinner is at the villa.

Monday

Enjoy a morning in Amalfi painting and sketching the sights, before lunch in a local trattoria. Some time for sight- seeing and shopping in the afternoon. Return to the villa late afternoon for dinner.

Tuesday

Spend today at the villa developing your work, and relaxing by the pool and in the grounds. Dinner today is at the villa.

Wednesday

Demonstration of landscape painting after breakfast, looking at different ways to apply watercolour and mixing media like pastel and coloured pencil. Following lunch, there will be an outing to Ravello using the techniques. Then a critique of the work so far, followed by dinner.

Thursday

After breakfast, there will be a lesson in the elements of composition and colour. Lunch is on the terrace. Later this afternoon, take the ‘traghetto’ boat from Amalfi to Positano, where you’ll have a chance to explore and sketch. Dinner tonight is in a local trattoria.

Friday

A leisurely morning to spend developing your work at the villa. For the rest of your last day, you are free to paint or relax by the pool. Dinner is at the villa, followed by a group show of your paintings.

Saturday

After breakfast, our transfer will collect you and take you back to Naples Airport for your flight home.

• Deposit

• A non-refundable $750 deposit is required at time of booking. The balance is due 60 days before departure.
  
  

Cancellation and Change Vacation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing to us by the person who the booking. Any notice will become effective from the date of receipt by us of the notice. Up to 10 weeks prior to departure, full deposit and any additional costs (private transfers etc), paid before that point will be withheld. ii) Within 10 weeks of departure 100% of the full vacation cost and any additional costs paid will be forfeited.
