Vacation Day 3: Icefield Parkway - Athabasca Glacier
Athabasca GlacierWhat’s the most unforgettable tour in the Canadian Rockies? A scenic day spent exploring the highest road in Canada - the Icefields Parkway. On our full day journey, witness the evidence left behind by many ice ages, Icy blue glaciers that cling to the face of several majestic mountains and deep blue lakes. We will stop at Peyto Lake, Bridal Falls during the journey out, however, the highlight of this day is a visit to the Athabasca Glacier which seeps down from the central core of the Columbia Icefield.
Athabasca Glacier 2Board a specially designed Ice Explorer vehicle and ride up onto the glacier, passing an ancient forest and spectacular viewpoints. Then, step out on to the glacier itself, which is the largest accumulation of ice south of the Arctic.
On the return, be on the lookout for wildlife including elk, moose, bighorn sheep, black bear and coyote! Capture some memorable photos when we make return stops at the Crowfoot Glacier and Bow Lake. We will be talking about this experience for the rest of our lives.

Best part is -  you get to choose your adventure speed.
Winding through the picturesque landscape of Kananaskis Country, the Kananaskis River is a great whitewater experience. The Kananaskis River has class 2 and 3 river and offers the novice rafter a thrilling and fun introduction to whitewater rafting.
The Horseshoe Canyon section offers spectacular scenery, big waves and up to Grade 4 whitewater and offers adventure lovers rafting thrills and excitement. Experience a sense of remoteness while you raft your way through shale canyons and awesome whitewater.

We will take the Roam transit to Banff National Park’s only hot springs pool for an authentic heritage experience. The elevation of Banff Upper Hot Springs, at 5,200 feet, makes it the highest in Canada. The hot pool is outdoors and while in the pool, we can look across the valley to Mount Rundle.

Lots of ideas will be available.
