Iceland and Greenland Singles Cruise Daily Itinerary
Cruise Day 1: Reykjavik, Iceland (Monday: July 3, 2023 / 4:00pm - )
Reykjavik, Iceland’s coastal capital, is renowned for the late-night clubs and bars in its compact center. It's home to the National and Saga museums, tracing Iceland’s Viking history. The striking concrete Hallgrimskirkja church and rotating Perlan glass dome offer sweeping views of the sea and nearby hills. Exemplifying the island’s dramatic landscape is the volcanic setting of the geothermal Blue Lagoon spa.
Board the cruise ship, Norweigan Star (12:00pm - 3:00pm)
Cruise Day 2: Djúpivogur, Iceland (Tuesday: July 4, 2023 / 11:00am - 7:00pm)
Djúpivogur is a small town and municipality located on a peninsula in the Austurland region in eastern Iceland, near the island of Papey and on the fjord Berufjörður. The municipality was formed by the merger of rural communities Berunes, Buland, and Geithellur on October 1, 1992.
Included Shore Excursion:
Cruise Day 3: Akureyri, Iceland (Wednesday: July 5, 2023 / 10:00am - 8:00pm)
Nicknamed the Capital of North Iceland, Akureyri is an important port and fishing center. Akureyri is a very picturesque town with its location by a scenic fjord, eclectic building styles and streets winding their way through gorges. The area where Akureyri is located was settled in the 9th century but did not receive a municipal charter until 1786. The town was the site of Allied units during World War II.
Included Shore Excursion - Myvtan Day Tour (Full Day) - Explore the natural wonders of
Northern Iceland on this full-day excursion. Enjoy spectacular views of Godafoss waterfall. This magnificent waterfall plays an important role in Icelandic history, particularly with the introduction of Christianity. Then we visit Lake Myvatn traveling through areas of extreme contrasts, bird life, flora, geothermal activity, geology and saga. The area of Lake Myvatn is considered by many to be the most beautiful and at the same time the most catastrophic place in Iceland. Marvel at natural wonders including the Dimmuborgir Lava formations and Hverir mud pools, visit Grotcaja cave, and see filming sites from hit TV show Game of Thrones.
Cruise Day 4: Ísafjörður, Iceland (Thursday:July 6, 2023 / 7:00am - 3:00pm)
Ísafjörður is a town in the Westfjords region of northwest Iceland. It's known for its dramatic landscapes. The old town has wooden houses with corrugated tin roofs built by fishing merchants in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Westfjords Heritage Museum has exhibits on the town’s maritime history, including a collection of old fishing boats. The old hospital, now a cultural center, contains archives and photography.
Included Shore Excursion: Dynjandi Falls - After meeting our local guide at the pier, we start our tour by driving straight to Dynjandi, the majestic "Jewel of the Westfjords". A series of 7 waterfalls falling like a bridal veil from the edge of a cliff, Dynjandi is breathtaking. We stop for an hour so we can enjoy the waterfall and scenic landscape. It is even possible to take a short hike for a closer look at the top tier and to get a spectacular view of the
fjord and surrounding mountains.
The route back is longer as we drive through a steep mountain pass, charming fishing villages and some of the most beautiful fjords in Iceland. Arnarfjordur, 18 milies long, is one of the longest fjords in Iceland and famous in folklore for being home to sea monsters. The town of Thingeyri, one of the oldest settlements in the Westfjords is where the regional Viking assembly was held and the first trading post was established. Next we’ll find Hrafnseyri farmstead, the birthplace of Jon Sigurdsson, the leader of the 19th Century Icelandic Independence movement. A museum opened in 1980 features a recreated turf house modelled after the one that Jón grew up in. There is also an old church dating to 1886.

Cruise Day 7: Paamiut, Greenland(Sunday, July 9, 2023 / 8:00am - 7:00pm)
Paamiut, formerly Frederikshåb, is a town in southwestern Greenland in the Sermersooq municipality.
Included Shore Excursion: Paamiut WalkingTour - Escorted around town by a local, you’ll be introduced to life in Greenland’s eighth-largest fishing village. Suffice it to say, rush hour is no big challenge in this burg. But living in Paamiut has its rewards for the 1,500-or-so souls who call it home. Their scattered skyline is colorful, their blue-black mountain backdrop is stunning – they even have a handsome stave church, one hotel and a supermarket. The fishing is excellent, the mitten-makers are busy, and the wildlife is contented. Minke and humpback whales swim by in the fjord, while white-tailed sea eagles (Greenlanders call them “Nattoralik”) guard the sky and bring good luck to those who spot them. A stop at a workshop that crafts coats from sealskin will provide a glimpse into the unique local economy – in Greenland, seal meat is a mainstay in the diet and no by-products are wasted.
Cruise Day 8: Nuuk, Greenland(Monday, July 10, 2023 / 6:00am - 5:00pm)
Nuuk, Greenland's capital, is a small city on the country's southwest coast. Its large fjord system is known for waterfalls, humpback whales and icebergs. Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Singles Weekend Itinerary
Vacation Day 1: Arrive Albuquerque, New Mexico
Your Singles Vacation begins when you arrive in Albuquerque and are transferred to your hotel. Meet your Singles Host at 6:30 pm in the lobby for a meet and greet and dinner at the hotel (not included).
Vacation Day 2: Santa Fe, New Mexico
After breakfast at hotel, we head to Santa Fe. We’ll head north along the picturesque Jemez Mountains to Santa Fe, the oldest capital city in the United States. You can visit one of the wonders of Santa Fe’s historic district, Loretto Chapel. Constructed in 1873, this striking Gothic chapel houses the Miraculous Staircase, a marvel of architectural ingenuity that some claim was designed and built by St. Joseph himself! For the shoppers, Santa Fe is a South Western haven. Governor’s Plaza is home to various shops and artists studios.
After our fun day in Santa Fe we will coach back to Albuquerque and transferred directly to tonight's festivities.
Tonight we enjoy the Balloon Glow, a signature Fiesta event that’s guaranteed to set the night sky ablaze. Just before dusk, nearly 500 balloons are tethered over the fiesta grounds. In unison, the pilots set their burners aglow, creating a luminous, magical display, followed by a spectacular fireworks show. It’s a pyrotechnical display you’ll not soon forget. You can also get your fill of junk food at the festival.
Tonight it is time to relax after our wonderful day. Order a pizza or walk to a local restaurant for dinner
Vacation Day 3: Albuquerque Balloon Festival
Wake Up Early! Today we attend the Balloon Fiesta Opening Ceremonies and “Mass Ascension” at sunrise. A sight not to be missed.
Up, Up, and Away! imagine a blue sky filled with a kaleidoscope of dazzling colors and shapes. That’s what you’ll experience at the world’s largest balloon event, the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. Your spirits will soar as you watch more than 700 balloons from all over the world ascend into the skies over Albuquerque. Rise bright and early to witness the Opening Ceremonies, which are followed by a grand “mass ascension,” as hundreds of balloons – some vibrant, some whimsical – fill the skies over the grounds.
After the balloons are gone... Enjoy lunch before we ride the Sandia Peak Tramway! Sandia Mountain dominates the east-side of Albuquerque with its 5,000’ vertical rise. A visit to the top of this mountain is a much sought after experience by visitors. The tram ride itself is 15-minutes and travels through a few biological life zones, revealing deep canyons and an awe-inspiring view not soon to be forgotten. Notes: Due to the elevation, 10,378’, individuals with heart conditions or respiratory problems should consult their doctor before riding the tram. Dress in layers; the temperature can be 20 degrees cooler than in the city.
After our fun day in Santa Fe we will coach back to Albuquerque and transferred directly to tonight's festivities.

Vacation Day 4: Old Town Albuquerque
Morning free to take a hot air balloon ride, relax or explore on your own. Then it is time to journey back in time in old town, established as a colonial farming village in 1706, Albuquerque’s Old Town neighborhood still bears the mark of its Spanish founders. Through narrow brick pathways to Spanish-style plazas and 18th-century adobe architecture, explore the heritage of Albuquerque’s varied past.
Late afternoon enjoy our Farewell to Albuquerque Dinner at El Pinto Mexican Restaurant. Established in 1962, El Pinto has been featuring traditional New Mexican recipes from grandmother Josephina Chavez-Griggs ever since. Puglia, Nicknamed Italy’s heel, in sun-baked southern Italy, offers a charming laid-back atmosphere. The photogenic land is dotted with fortified castles and whitewashed trulli, Puglia’s distinctive conical-shaped dwellings, and carpeted with a silvery sea of ancient olive groves.
It’s also an area proud of its food heritage, producing most of the country’s extra virgin olive oil and many excellent full-bodied wines. Other specialities include intensely flavoured olives, almonds, figs, orecchiette pasta, seafood risotto, fava beans and burrata, the supremely creamy cheese similar to mozzarella. You won’t go hungry between photography sessions here in Puglia! You’ll get the chance to try out some food photography, too.
Sights to savour with your photographic eye include the turquoise sea and long sandy beaches, as well as 13th-century Swabian castle, the city of Lecce’s Baroque churches, and Otranto cathedral’s amazing mosaic floor, the work of a 12th-century monk. There’s plenty of inspiration for photography, with help and advice from our resident tutor.
Where you’re going to stay
We use two villas in Puglia. Casino Pisanelli is an old Flavours favourite, a lovingly restored 17th-century hunting lodge in rural Salento, converted into a luxurious country retreat. Its formal gardens, picturesque pool, and shady courtyards planted with lemon and orange trees are idyllic and perfect for delicious meals al fresco.
Our newer property, in the charming coastal town of Gagliano del Capo at Puglia’s southern tip, offers traditional baroque architecture with a very stylish contemporary twist in its spacious interior, and is simply stunning. Both villas and locations offer exceptional photographic inspiration.
Arrival and group transfer to the villa.
Our Flavours transfer will meet you at Brindisi Airport and take you to the villa for welcome drinks and time to relax before dinner prepared by our local chef.
Your first photography session to ease you into the week, followed by lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit Santa Maria di Leuca, at the very tip of the Salentine Peninsula where the Ionian and Adriatic Seas meet. Enjoy an aperitivo and dinner in our favourite local trattoria.
Photography lesson, winery visit, and stop-offs to photograph classic Puglian views.
This morning you will have another lesson at the villa, followed by lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit a local winery, followed by a drive around the area to photograph classic Puglian views. Return to the villa for dinner this evening, prepared by your chef.
After breakfast, the group will leave for a trip to Lecce – the ‘Florence of the South’, where you can photograph the town’s beautiful architecture and views. Lunch will be at a local trattoria. After lunch, we will visit Otranto situated by the sea, with the chance to visit the famous Cathedral with its beautiful medieval floor mosaic. Return to the villa for dinner.
Day at the villa, with a food photography lesson.
Your lesson this morning will concentrate on photographing the food that the chef prepares for lunch, and tell the story of the meal as the ingredients come together. The afternoon is free to enjoy as you wish and dinner will be prepared for you at the villa.
Photography lesson followed by an outing to the port of Gallipoli.
This morning, time for another photography lesson around the villa, followed by lunch. You will then have a late afternoon visit to Gallipoli, on the Ionic sea, where you can photograph the fishing boats arriving and wander around the old town. Dinner will be at an excellent local fish restaurant.
Final photography session, slideshow, and farewell dinner.
After breakfast you will have your final lesson and round-up, before the evening slideshow of the week’s best photographs! Enjoy your last afternoon relaxing before a special farewell dinner prepared by your chef.
Group transport to the airport.
After breakfast, your transfer will collect you and return you to the airport. Arrivederci!

Tonight we will do a quick meet and greet for those who have already arrived and walk to an optional dinner.
Vacation Day 2: Santiago de Chile - Punta Arenas
After breakfast, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Punta Arenas, near the tip of Chile's southernmost Patagonia region and located on the Strait of Magellan, which connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Upon arrival we will transfer to our hotel and check-in.
Discover the special enchantment of this city, built between the Strait of Magellan, the valuable historical, cultural legacy and traditions on our guided tour. Its population of 125,000 is mainly Croatian, Spanish, Italian, German, English immigrants and people from the Chiloe Island. We will stop at Cerro Mirador ski center, for a panoramic view of Punta Arenas and the Strait of Magellan.
Continuing our tour we travel the main streets and avenues of the city, viewing all the different monuments. Our tour finishes in the main plaza Muñoz Gamero, which has a memorial to explorer Ferdinand Magellan, and the Museo Nao Victoria features a replica of one of his galleons.
Enjoy free time to visit one of the many museums, stroll the plaza or shop for a souvenir before we gather together for our Welcome Dinner.
Vacation Day 3: Punta Arenas & Magdalena and Marta Island - Puerto Natales
Located 20 miles northeast of Punta Arenas, in the middle of the Strait of Magellan, Magdalena Island is home to 120,000 Magellanic penguins and the largest such colony in Chile and Marta Island is home to more than 1000 Sea lions, Cormorants, Skuas, Austral seagull, Antarctic pigeon and Sea elephants. We will board our speed boats for a 45 minute ride to Magdalena Island. Once we have landed we’ll have about an hour to explore and take photos. Visit the lighthouse, an environmental interpretation center, where we’ll find information about the history of the strait and the ecological richness of the islands.
We continue our journey to Isla Marta to see the sea lions, imperial cormorants and hundreds of southern gulls. To protect the wildlife, Marta Island is only circumnavigated to admire and photograph the Colony and the diversity of marine birds that live there.
Then we return to the pier and to Punta Arenas. Depending on our luck we might be able to see Austral Dolphins and Toninas Overa.
Time to relax and view the beautiful scenery as we travel about 3 hour to Puerto Natales. Upon arrival we check-in to our hotel and enjoy the hotel facilities.
Vacation Day 4: Puerto Natales & Torres del Paine National Park

First we stop at Milodon Cave, a natural monument composed of three caverns and a rocky conglomerate called "Silla Del Diablo" (Devil´s chair). The old men of Patagonia claim the devil appears to those who come to look for him on dark nights.
Then we continue to Torres del Paine National Park passing the Sofia Lagoon, Prat Range, Porteño Lake, Mesa Hill, Del Toro Lake, Del Toro and Ballena Hill. Admire the beautiful landscape that surrounds the Grey Lake view point before we drive over Serrano bridge to walk

The 11,580 Atacama Salt Flat is one of the main attractions of the Los Flamencos National Reserve. The lake under the salt flat has one of the largest lithium reserves in the world. This mineral is highly used in the technology industry, and it is exploited in the southern area of the flat. Vacation Day 7: San Pedro de Atacama - Sunrise & Sunset
Get up before dawn to enjoy the Geyers show just as the sun rises, with the craters of El Tatio as the main attraction. Located 13,700 feet above sea level, its fumaroles (smoke from the geysers) create amazing white steam columns which are at their best between 6 and 7 in the morning. On our morning excursion see how the local wildlife and other birds leave their hiding spots, looking for their breakfast among the plants and giant cacti.
In the evening, one of the most exciting moments is the sunset, and the best place to wait for it is the “Cordillera de la Sal” with its valleys, which are called Valle de Marte (Mars Valley) and Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon), Cordillera de la Sal has been shaped over time by rain and wind, resulting in impressive forms and mineral shines, spectacular natural sculptures and varied mineral colorations.

Bohemian and colorful, Valparaiso’s maze of hills has something to discover at every turn: graffiti art, a cute little shop or a cafe for lunch. There are 42 hills, where homes and neighborhoods of the city are located. Some of them still have scenic elevators which were built to quickly get to the heights of Valparaiso and enjoy their viewpoints that allow you to observe the surroundings. Revel in the crazy architecture of Valparaiso as we stroll along its narrow streets, climb its endless staircases, ride its historic
funicular elevators and enjoy panoramic views from its many lookout points. Its UNESCO-designated historic downtown offers charming colonial architecture, great seafood restaurants, markets and stores. Upon arrival on Rapa Nui, Easter Island we will take the airport shuttle to our hotel and check-in. Then we will drive up the extinct volcano Rano Kau, the largest volcano and one of the most beautiful and impressive natural settings on Easter Island. Rano Kau has a crater lake which is one of the island’s only three natural bodies of freshwater. The principal archaeological site on Rano Kau is the ruined ceremonial village of Orongo.Located in a narrow strip between the edge of the crater that surrounds the lagoon and the cliff that descends almost perpendicular to the sea, in front of the Motu Nui, Motu Iti and Motu Kao Kao islets, the village of Orongo was inhabited seasonally by the chiefs and main villagers of the ancient tribes, who hoped to collect the first sacred egg of the manutara bird in the months of spring. It consists of a collection of low, sod-covered, windowless, round-walled buildings with even lower doors.
Easter Island Day 2: Rapa Nui
Today we have a full day excursion on Easter Island, taking us on a historical journey. Visit the restored Ahu called Vaihu, located in Te'e Hanga Bay on the south coast. Then we continue to Akahanga Ahu, where it is believed that the tomb of the famous King Hotu Matua is located. Stop at the Rano Raraku quarry, where some 900 statues were believed to have been carved, 397 of them are still lying or standing in various stages of construction and transportation around the quarry.
We continue to Ahu Tongariki, the largest spiritual site of its kind on Easter Island, with its 15 carved stone figures, known as moai, of varying shapes and sizes. Walk around the platform and examine the statues’ serious-looking faces. All 15 figures stand side by side and face the sunset during summer solstice. Next stop is Te Pito Ote Henua, a huge round rock, representing the “world navel” to the island inhabitants. Then we reach the beach of Anakena, a white coral sand beach that has two ahus; Ahu-Ature has a single moai and Ahu Nao-Nao has seven, two of which have deteriorated. There will be time to relax on the beach, and even take a swim in the warm Pacific waters, before the end of the day.

Ushuaia is a resort town in Argentina. It's located on the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, the southernmost tip of South America, nicknamed the “End of the World.” The windswept town, perched on a steep hill, is surrounded by the Martial Mountains and the Beagle Channel. It's the gateway to Antarctica cruises and tours to nearby Isla Yécapasela, known as “Penguin Island” for its penguin colonies.
Included Shore Excursion: Tierra Del Fuego Park and End of the World Train - Tierra del Fuego national park is located in the southwest of Argentina bordering Chile and it is the southernmost part of the Andean Patagonian forest. Enjoy the wonderful flora and fauna and over 20 species of mammal, including red fox, the guanaco, the otter and the Canadian beaver. This is also the natural habitat of the black eyed albatross, the condor, and the white cuaquenes.
Then we board the southernmost railway in the world, reminiscence of the infamous Train of the Prisoners, which used to transport prisoners to supply Ushuaia villages with wood. The train starts slowly at 4.3 miles per hour, like in the early 20th century when prisoners still supplied the villages with wood - this stopped in the middle of the century and reopened for tourists in 1994. On our tour, we will learn the importance of the railway in the 20th century: without the railway, the prison would be without wood for cooking and heating. The railway passes through the forest, and we will be able to see the eastern slope of Mount Susana and then the central part of the Pipo River Valley.
Cruise Day 6: Cruise Cape Horn (Thursday: March 2, 2023/ 6:00am - 9:00pm)
Cape Horn is a rocky headland on Hornos Island, in southern Chile's Tierra del Fuego archipelago. It's surrounded by wild seas off the southern tip of South America where the Pacific and Atlantic oceans meet. The albatross-shaped Cape Horn Monument commemorates the lives of thousands of seafarers who perished attempting to sail around the cape. A secluded lighthouse and the tiny Stella-Maris Chapel are nearby.
Grab your camera and a great seat on deck for cruising the Patagonian channels along the southern coast of Chile. Our splendid sail through the majestic Chilean fjords includes the famous Tierra del Fuego along the Straits of Magellan. Our relaxing passage through some of nature's most exciting creations offers vistas of azure waters around lesser known fjords as well as the world famous lighthouses of Cape Horn.
Cruise Day 7: Antarctica Cruising (Friday: March 3, 2023/ 11:00am-1:00pm)
Schollart Channel
Schollaert Channel is a channel between Anvers Island on the southwest and Brabant Island on the northeast, connecting Dallmann Bay and Gerlache Strait, in the Palmer Archipelago. Discovered in 1898 by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition under Gerlache, who named it for Frans Schollaert, Belgian statesman.
Experience the spectacular wildlife that inhabits the great white South Pole and breathe in the exhilarating air. With Anvers Island to the southwest and Brabant Island to the northeast, take in the mesmerizing sights of massive ice flows, humpback whales, waddling penguins, leopard seals and more in their natural, and somewhat extreme, element. You are certain to leave with amazing memories and pictures, as we cruise through Schollart Channel located near Antarctica.
Cruise Day 7: Antarctica Cruising (Friday: March 3, 2023/ 2:30pm-4:00pm)
Paradise Bay, Antarctica
Paradise Harbor, also known as Paradise Bay, is a wide embayment behind Lemaire and Bryde Islands in Antarctica, indenting the west coast of Graham Land between Duthiers and Leniz Points. The name was first applied by whalers operating in the vicinity and was in use by 1920.
This name aptly reflects the stunning beauty we'll find here, just as the clear waters beautifully reflect the spectacular mountains, such as Rojas Peak, Bryde Peak, and the Petzvol Glacier. Within these waters we may see Minke whales feeding and Gentoo penguins curiously observing us from the rocky shores.
Cruise Day 7: Antarctica Cruising (Friday: March 3, 2023/ 5:00pm-7:00pm) Gerlache Strait
Gerlache Strait or de Gerlache Strait or Détroit de la Belgica is a channel/strait separating the Palmer Archipelago from the Antarctic Peninsula. The Belgian Antarctic Expedition, under Lt. Adrien de Gerlache, explored the strait in January and February 1898, naming it for the expedition ship Belgica.
A number of geographical anomalies around this channel make these waters among the most plankton-rich in the world. You're likely to see a profusion of whales feeding in the rich ecosystem, which is a sight you'll not soon forget.
Cruise Day 8: Elephant Island, Antarctica (Saturday: March 4, 2023/ 2:00pm-6:00pm)
Elephant Island is an ice-covered mountainous island off the coast of Antarctica in the outer reaches of the South Shetland Islands, in the Southern Ocean. This tiny island in the Weddell Sea of Antarctica plays a role in one of seafaring history's most legendary exploits. When the brave crew of the Endurance, led by intrepid explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton, was trapped in the ice during a 1914 polar expedition, they took refuge on this island until help arrived. And, even though they spent the entire winter waiting for rescue, not a single crew member was lost.
Elephant Island has claims from not only Argentina and Chile, but also the United Kingdom. Brazil also has two shelters here that contain up to six researchers that work during the summer months. The island is covered with elephant seals, hence the name Elephant Island. At Cape Lookout, a bluff on the southern coast where various penguins (chinstrap, gentoo, and macaroni) call home. Other birds of note include sheathbills, cape petrels, and stormy petrels; it's also a great place to spot the elephant seals and Antarctic fur seals.

Time for another exclusive crafty morning and fun games afternoon with your singles cruise host onboard ship.

The Historic Dockyard Museum has galleries devoted to maritime exploration, natural history, the 1982 Falklands War and Antarctic heritage. By the waterfront, a whalebone arch stands near the entrance of Christ Church Cathedral, which was built in the late 1800s. Magellanic penguins gather at nearby Gypsy Cove.
