Paris to French Riviera Singles Vacation Itinerary
Vacation Day 1 - Arrive Paris, France
Upon arrival at the Paris airport (CDG) you will be shuttled to our hotel. Remember you are flying home from Nice (NCE). Check-in and receive your Paris hop on hop off bus pass.
Paris is steeped in history and packed full of world famous landmarks, A hop on hop off bus is by far the best way to see the capital. Enjoy great views from the open top deck of your bus and see the sites of Paris that you choose. The bus offers 4 different routes and it is valid for 2 consecutive days. The Paris Grand Tour will take you to all the main sights, while the other 3 routes concentrate on particular areas (Montparnasse/St Germain tour, Montmartre/Grands Boulevards tour and Bastille/Bercy tour).
Meet and greet in the hotel lobby and walk to an optional dinner at 7:00pm.
Vacation Day 2 - Paris, France
This morning we will continue using our hop on pass and visit Sacre de Coer, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris. Due to its location on the Montmartre hill, the basilica towers over the city; its highest point is even higher than the top of the Eiffel Tower.
Thanks to this prominent location the Sacré de Coeur Basilica is one of the most noticeable landmarks in Paris.
Next we will take the bus to the Champes de Elyses, where there will be free time for lunch and shopping. Tonight our Welcome Dinner will be in a local restaurant.
Vacation Day 3 - Paris to Loire Valley
Today we have a guided tour of three of the most impressive castles in the Loire Valley.
The royal Château de Chambord, the largest castle in the Loire Valley was constructed as a hunting lodge by King François I in part to be near to his mistress and was never completed.
Chateau de Blois has been the residence of several French kings and also where Joan of Arc received a blessing from the Archbishop of Reims in 1429 before departing with her army to drive the English from Orléans.
Chateau Chenonceau is not only remarkable for its architecture and history but also for the fine quality of its collections: Renaissance furniture, a vast ensemble of XVI and XVII century tapestries and a great number of masterpieces. Beyond the Castle Chenonceau discover the two renowned and magnificent gardens that Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici have given their names to.
We return to Paris in time to enjoy an optional dinner together.
Vacation Day 4: Paris to Marseilles
This morning we transfer to the train station and in about three hours we will be on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Watch the French countryside goes by as we speed towards the Marseilles. Over the last 2600 years, Marseilles has built a rich, colorful atmosphere enhanced by the fresh sea air, ancient architectural foundations, incredible art and amazing food.
Our panoramic tour of Marseilles begins upon arrival. The highlight of the tour is the Notre Dame de la Garde, a 19th century basilica. It offers an exceptional view of the city, the islands of the Frioul and the castle.
The port is filled with fishing boats and yachts, and surrounded by small streets teeming with seafood restaurants and shops. The wide streets offer leisurely strolling and many terrace cafes.
After checking into our hotel we can make a "loop" of the Old Port, walking around three sides and then taking the little ferry boat across from one side to the other. Maybe grab a bite to eat in one of many seafood restaurants.
Vacation Day 5: Marseilles - Perched Villages of the Luberon
After breakfast our full day tour begins as we drive to the heart of the Provence countryside to tour five unspoiled villages perched on the ridges of the Luberon hills. Set among the vineyards, olive groves, and cedar trees wander pass ancient ruins carved into the rocks.
Visit Oppède le Vieux, hewn into the rock and surrounded by forests and cliffs. Continue to the stone ridge-top village of Ménerbes, before breaking for lunch at one of the cafés in the sleepy square of Bonnieux.Take in the ochre-red color of Roussillon's buildings and surrounding cliffs, then head to Gordes, celebrated as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Here, traditional stone houses line the narrow streets that spiral up the hill the village is set upon. Then we return to Marseilles to sleep and enjoy a night stroll and have an optional dinner.
Vacation Day 6: Marseilles to Nice, French Riviera
We board our train to Nice and upon arrival we transfer to our hotel and check-in.
Discover this picture-postcard city on the French Riviera on our afternoon walking tour of Nice. Nice has a thousand surprises in store ... its monuments, churches, gardens, the footpaths which link the surrounding hillside to the city center, but also its museums, its artists, its local crafts, its renowned gastronomy with its unmistakable flavors of garlic, olive oil and basil, as well as its folklore. Our French guide will show us the maze of staircases and lanes, fine Baroque churches, bustling flower market and the famed Promenade des Anglais. Visit the Old Town, site of the trading center founded by the Greeks 2,700 years ago.
After our group tour, you can continue to explore the streets, beaches and markets of Nice. Walk along the famous Promenade des Anglais and enjoy the views of the Mediterranean.
Vacation Day 7: St Tropez, French Riviera
Today we cruise the coastal curve of the French Riviera to St Tropez on a full-day excursion from Nice. Climb aboard our ferry for a 2.5-hour scenic journey and marvel at the stunning coastal scenery as we sail along the Mediterranean coast arriving on the sun-drenched shores of St Tropez. Delve into the rich history of St Tropez as we stroll with our French tour leader, around the Côte d’Azur town that rose to popularity after a post-war influx of artists and authors. Walk through the picturesque Old Port with its million-dollar yachts; visit the provincial markets like the Place aux Herbes; and shop sophisticated boutiques for glamorous clothes that follow the latest fashions. Follow a tangle of quaint cobbled streets to St Tropez Church to admire the sacred structure and then head over to the 17th-century Citadelle de St Tropez to enjoy sweeping vistas of the scenic surroundings. Free time to enjoy great works of art, shop or enjoy a delicious meal straight from the sea at a beachfront cafe. At a pre-arranged time, return to the ferry and relax during our 2.5-hour journey back to Nice.

There are many wonderful discoveries to be made on our afternoon tour of Casablanca including: the Central Market, United Nations and Mohamed V Squares, the Habous Quarter, view The Royal Palace and visit Hassan II Mosque, the second largest mosque in the world.
Welcome Dinner at Rick’s Cafe Restaurant, the mythical saloon from the 1942 film "Casablanca", has finally been transformed from celluloid to wood, glass and plaster. Set in an old courtyard-style mansion built against the Old Medina, the restaurant piano bar is filled with architectural and decorative details reminiscent of the film.
Vacation Day 2 - Casablanca - Rabat - Meknes - Volubilis - Fez ( December 29, 2024 )
After breakfast we depart for Rabat the capital of the kingdom and headquarters of the government, parliament, ministries and administrations. View the Royal Palace, Hassan Tower, the famous tomb of the late king Mohamed V who fulfilled Morocco's independence, and the Oudaya Kasbah.

To walk around the site today brings the grand achievements and daily routines of an ancient civilization vividly to life. Especially notable are a series of mosaic floors depicting scenes from classical mythology and everyday life.

Our vacation continues to the Mellah, the Jewish quarter with a walled boundary and a fortified gateway. These Jewish quarters were located near the royal residencies so that the inhabitants would be protected.

On arrival to Erfoud we will be transported by 4WD vehicles across the High Atlas, along oasis valley gorges and past one thousand Kasbahs for a sunset camel trek across the sandy dunes of the Erg Chebbi. The Moroccan desert is beautiful and Camel trekking, in such a destination is a once in a lifetime experience. These dunes are unique due to its gorgeous orange color during sun set.

Our day ends at Ouarzazate where we check-in to our hotel and enjoy a wonderful dinner.
Vacation Day 6 - Ourazatate - Marrakech ( January 2, 2025 )
Just on the edge of Ourazatate, we visit the Taourirt Kasbah, a citadel set against the backdrop of the Atlas Mountains. With almost 300 rooms and a true maze of passageways, steps, and keylock doors, it’s easy to feel lost within this immense structure that only connects to the outside world through a narrow entrance doorway.
Stop at Ait Benhaddou, a traditional Mud Brick city and a UNESCO site. Ait Benhaddou has appeared in more than 10 movies, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. Free time for souvenir shopping or have lunch at the terrace of the restaurant facing the kasbah.

And later this evening -- Promenade by horse-drawn carriages to our Farewell Dinner at Gharnata Palace, a beautiful private palace or "riad" situated in the "médina". Walk through a torched lit Narrow Street to arrive at the Palace. Our entertainment will be an Andalusian orchestra and a belly dancer.

Most hotels used are moderate to first class or 3-4 star properties and are twin-bedded with private bath. Single room accommodations outside of the U.S. are usually a single bed in a much smaller room than U.S. standards. Please note that hotel rooms, especially in Europe, are often older, smaller, and less equipped than the American equivalent and are mush higher priced during peak travel seasons. Sometimes standards and service are not what we are accustomed to, but is all part of the adventure of travel and exploring the world. Hotels are subject to change, but if a change becomes necessary, hotels substituted will be equivalent to those listed.

Our full day in the Masai Mara Game Reserve will be on the hunt for the big cats of the Masai Mara. Enjoy the spectacular view of the famous migration during our game viewing and remember to keep a sharp lookout. We may witness a dramatic hunt; a solitary leopard retrieving its kill from the high branches of an acacia tree or a herd of elephants protecting their young from predators. The Masai Mara wildebeest migration is considered to be one of the wonders of the world, especially as they cross the Mara River. The reserve is also regarded as the most spectacular wildlife viewing area in Kenya with over 95 species of mammals and over 400 species of birds. Game viewing is never dull in the Mara and patience is rewarded with unique sightings, such as a pride of lion stalking prey. All meals will be served at the Lodge. Vacation Day 10: Masai Mara – Nairobi
After breakfast we depart for Nairobi with a stop at the Nairobi shopping mall for a snack, light lunch or last minute shopping. Then we will go to the Giraffe Manor. Since its founders rescued a baby giraffe named Daisy from a heavily-poached area of western Kenya in 1974, their home has become a household name among wildlife lovers world-wide. Here we can feed the giraffe as well as kiss them.
This evening is our Farewell Dinner at the world famous Carnivore Restaurant, considered “Africa’s greatest eating experience” (if you love barbecue it doesn’t get better than this), and home to the “Simba Saloon” one of Nariobi's most popular night clubs. After dinner, you will be transferred to the Airport for your safe journey home.
